Yahoo has revealed some more details about the redesign of its homepage.
The company describes itself as the "founders of the homepage" and said that it has 300 million unique users each month worldwide.
The new homepage, which is currently in testing, will contain third-party content from companies such as eBay and news provided by newspapers.
The design is intended to be cleaner and not as cluttered as the present homepage and also includes the 'My Apps' dashboard, which will let you quickly access other websites without actually leaving the page.
Janine Shaw of Yahoo admitted that the plans were still at "a very early stage" but said that Yahoo was keen to roll out the new homepage as soon as possible.
"We want to do it quickly. We don't want to be in perpetual beta," she said. However, there is no set date for when the redesigned homepage will go live.
Yahoo also revealed that its plans for voice-activated search on mobile phones will be coming to several Nokia handsets some time in the first half of 2009.
