Video conferencing added to Gmail

Google has rolled out a voice and video conferencing service to Gmail, its email client.

Google has introduced a video conferencing feature to Google Mail.

The free service will let you chat to contacts face-to-face, similar to the way Skype works.

Called Gmail Video and Voice, it isn't as sophisticated as Skype, but does offer a basic voice and video-conferencing service.

You can enable video chat in your Google Mail account by downloading the Gmail voice and video chat plug-in.
