Last.fm releases 'Best of 2008'

Last.fm has released its top 10 lists of the most-played tracks and albums on its website for 2008.
Coldplay topped both the Best Track as well as the Best Album categories for the year, with Viva La Vida and Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends respectively.

With over 398,000 Last.fm fans, Brooklyn-based MGMT took the number one slot in the top artists list, which only includes musicians who released their debut album this year.
Coldplay’s Viva La Vida was the biggest-selling iTunes album download of 2008 in both the US and the UK iTunes Stores. Leona Lewis’s Bleeding Love was named the top-selling single.

Last.fm has over 25 million users and it also has information on 43 million tracks from more than 12 million artists.
Britney Spears topped Yahoo's list of the most searched-for terms in 2008 in the UK.
