MySpace has announced details of a widget which will allow members of the social networking site to exchange messages or browse photos on their TVs. The MySpace Widget, developed with Intel and Yahoo, compliments TV viewing, according to the company. It could, for example, let members purchase products advertised on TV from online stores the social networking website said. Other functions the MySpace Widget offers include instant updates about profile activity on members' TV screens without having to log into MySpace.com. With the new widget users will also be able to post comments, browse photos and profiles and publish personal status and mood updates to other viewers. The widget will include an on-screen keyboard, MySpace said. No launch date was announced during the showcasing of the widget at CES, the largest electronics fair in the world, which kicked off today in Las Vegas. MySpace recently launched Profile 2.0, which let members choose between keeping their original profile pages or getting a new-look homepage. www.myspace.com www.cesweb.org
