The high-street store chain Woolworths, which collapsed last year, is to come back as an online-only brand. An announcement from the owners of the Daily Telegraph, Sir David and Sir Frederick Barclay, said that the pair had bought the brand after it went into administration in November 2008. The brand will return as an online store, but it is thought that few of the 35,000 people made redundant by the chain would get their jobs back. The new venture could be online as early as the summer, according to reports. Shop Group Direct, owned by the Barclay brothers, has also reportedly bought the Ladybird clothing brand made famous by Woolworths. www.lwsdg.co.uk
