Glastonbury 2009 tickets sell out

Tickets for this summer's Glastonbury festival have sold out, though a limited number of cancelled tickets will be resold in April.

Glastonbury

After last year's festival got underway with several thousand tickets left unsold, the organisers of Glastonbury have announced that the 2009 event is now sold out.

Tickets for this summer's music festival were made available eight months before it begins, with surfers having to first register online then book on 5 October 2008.

Bookings could be made online or over the phone, and festival-goers were given the option of paying the full £175 entry fee or laying down a £50-plus deposit.

Those who paid deposits had a deadline of the beginning of February to complete their payments.

Organiser Emily Eavis said: "We're chuffed to bits that we've managed to sell so many tickets so far ahead, especially when you look at the weather outside.

"Thanks to everyone for keeping the faith; it's certainly shaping up to be another vintage year for Glastonbury Festival, with a brilliant line up to be unveiled in June," she continued.

No acts have yet been confirmed for the festival, which takes place from 24-28 June.
