Planet Earth, the award-winning documentary series from the BBC, has become the first British-made content to appear in high definition in the UK iTunes Store.
Since the UK iTunes Store began offering HD content last week, the only programmes available in high definition were American shows such as Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy and 30 Rock.
However, that has changed with the introduction of Planet Earth, a single episode costing £2.49 and the full series £24.99.
Simon Danker, director of Digital Media at BBC Worldwide said: "We are thrilled to have Planet Earth as the first UK series available to fans in such incredible quality.
"It is one of the BBC Natural History Unit’s most definitive visual experiences and now it can be watched anywhere and anytime," he continued.
