The characters of the award-winning comedy series Peep Show have undertaken a new experiment. In a move replicating that of the hit US drama Mad Men, David Mitchell and Robert Webb's characters have both signed up to the Twitter online messaging service. Who it is actually behind the tweets remains a mystery, though one of the show's creators, Jesse Armstrong, is an active Twitterer. >> Follow celebrities on Twitter Mark Corrigan, played by Mitchell, states in his bio that he is only on Twitter "to watch what @JezObourne says about me". Jez, or Jeremy, played by Robert Webb, describes himself in his bio as "basically the next prodigy, like the band but also like the word". The 140-character updates posted on Twitter are in keeping with both of the shows characters and already the pair have attracted hundreds of followers. Other characters in the show now with Twitter profiles include Sophie Chapman, who is very pregnant and bored. Super Hans, Alan Jonson and Big Suza all have Twitter accounts also. Peep Show finished its fifth series on Channel 4 last year with another series in the pipeline. It remains to be seen if the comedy will translate from the TV to the internet. www.channel4.com/programmes/peep-show
