Computer games giant Nintendo will release the Nintendo DSi games console on April 3 in the UK. The DSi handheld game player is the follow up to the hugely successful DS (dual screen) console, which Nintendo launched over five years ago. It has sold 98 milllion consoles worldwide, with more than nine million sold in the UK alone. Pricing for the new consoles, which will come in either black or white, is expected to be around £149 though this has not yet been officially confirmed. New to the DSi are a pair of low-resolution cameras, one facing in, one out, an SD card slot for reading memory cards containing music and photos, and slightly larger dual screens. The DSi also posses have a faster processor and 256MB of storage space, where games and programs downloaded from the DSi Shop can be saved. The DSi Shop will launch at around the same time as the console, with more details to come in late March. www.nintendo.co.uk
