UK internet visits to Google Maps UK increased by 41 per cent on Thursday, with the website receiving one in every 250 UK internet visits. According to web-monitoring company Hitwise, the average visit time for Google Maps yesterday was 7 minutes 6 seconds, up from 5 minutes 28 seconds the day before. It also became the 20th most visited site overall - its highest ever ranking - and saw its page views up 76 per cent. Robin Goad, research director at Hitwise, said: "People obviously stayed on the site to play with Google's new application.
