Search for jobs on Twitter

As Twitter's popularity rises in the UK, employment agencies are using the service to advertise new jobs.

Web User: Twitter launches new homepage changes

Two employment services have recently launched on Twitter in the UK as the micro-blogging site grows in popularity.

The unemployment figure in the UK surpassed the two million mark earlier this month as the global financial crisis continues to worsen.

However, the newly launched TwitterJobSearch.com says that it is advertising over "30,000 jobs covering every industry" in the UK.

Since its launch last week, TwitterJobSearch.com has redirected followers to its listings 100,000 times.

More than 1.3 billion messages are posted on Twitter every day so finding what's on offer can prove difficult.

On TwitterJobSearch job seekers simply enter a job and location in the search bar and the service pulls up corresponding jobs.

Another Twitter employment profile that launched this month is TwitJobs.co.uk founded by Jason Barrett.

TwitJobs uses Twitter's service to list jobs, mainly in media and sales, in the UK. Both services are free to use.
