Warning over Miliband emails

Emails requesting personal details that appear to have been sent by David Miliband, the Foreign Secretary, are fraudulent.

Email

The government has issued a warning about fraudulent emails in circulation that appear to be sent by Foreign Minister David Miliband.

The messages come with the subject line 'Global economic crisis relief aid'.

"The email asks recipients for their personal details so that they can receive funds from a fictitious recession relief programme fund," the Foreign and Commonwealth Office said in a statement.

It advised anyone who suspected that an email requesting personal details was fraudulent not to reply.

Recently Justice Secretary Jack Straw's name was used in a similar fraud campaign.
