Amazon has introduced a new version of its Kindle electronic book reader which includes a built-in PDF reader and a larger screen.
The Kindle DX is just over a third of an inch thin and its screen is 2.5 times bigger than the standard Kindle’s 6-inch display.
Content auto-rotates so you can read in portrait or landscape mode. The 3.3GB of available memory can hold up to 3,500 books, compared with 1,500 with Kindle.
The Kindle DX will go on sale in the US this summer for $489 (£325) but there is still no news on when the Kindle will be available in the UK.
Earlier this year, Amazon released a second, slimmer version of its Kindle book reader which, like the new DX, has integrated Wi-Fi and text-to-speech functionality.
