Google tracks Eurovision entries

Google has launched a tool to help predict the winner of this year's Eurovision Song Contest by using search data.

A new tool from Google aims to predict the winner of this year's Eurovision Song Contest by using search data.

Google's Eurovision predictor tracks how many searches are being made about each of the entrants to gauge their popularity.

At the time of writing, Norway's Alexander Rybak is in the lead, with Britain's Jade Ewen in seventh place.

"The data, which is based on internet search traffic, is updated daily so you can track your country's contestant leading up to the final and try to predict which country will come out on top," a Google spokeswoman said.

The Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Moscow on 16 May.
