An interactive art installation that lets teenagers create a piece of work in real-time over the web has been launched by the BBC.
The Blast Studio, located in The Topolski Studio at London's Southbank Centre, aims to help 13-to-19-year-olds discover their artistic skills by working with different skills.
Users participate by logging into the BBC Blast mini-site and remotely controlling machines.
These machines contribute to the installation in a variety of ways, including shooting paint against walls and adding to a sculpture.
The artwork will be created organically over a four-week period.
After uploading their content, participants can gain feedback from their peers and professionals in the media.
It has been created to launch BBC Blast, a social-learning project that will visit 29 cities offering free media industry workshops, and the highly successful Blast work-placement scheme has so far put 350 young people a year into placements in the creative industries.
BBC Two will broadcast content created by users on the website in November 2009.
