A dedicated channel for the BBC's natural history content has been launched on the YouTube video-sharing website.

Fifty clips including footage from the highly acclaimed Blue Planet series will be made available on the site.

The content will not just be limited to BBC licence-fee payers either, as anyone around the world will be able to watch.

Neil Nightingale, head of the BBC's Natural History Unit, said: "I'm delighted that the BBC Earth channel on YouTube will now allow people all round the world to enjoy some of the very best of the great content from the BBC Natural History Unit online."

The BBC Earth YouTube channel also contains clips from Life of Mammals and Turtles Guide to the Pacific.
