Apple has released the iPhone 3.0 operating system, the latest update for its iconic mobile handset.
iPhone 3.0, which was first announced back in March, gives iPhone owners the ability to copy and paste text and use the landscape mode in more applications such as Mail and Text.
Other features include the ability to download movies from iTunes Store directly onto your device rather than having to download on a PC and transfer the content via iTunes.
The upgrade is free to iPhone owners, who can download it via iTunes, but owners of the iPod Touch will have to pay £5.99 if they want to get iPhone 3.0.
The launch of iPhone 3.0 is just a couple of days before Apple is due to launch the iPhone 3GS, the third-generation iPhone.
A 3-megapixel camera that can shoot video as well as stills is included in the iPhone 3GS, which also features voice-control functions and is claimed to be twice as fast as its predecessor.
