Thousands of irate viewers have signed an online petition requesting that the Crazy Frog ringtone advert be banned from television screens.
An advert for the mobile phone ringtone has played hundreds of times on TV channels over the past few weeks, with viewers clocking up more than 800 complaints with the UK's advertising watchdog.
The Crazy Frog's version of the theme tune to 'Beverly Hills Cop' by Axel F topped the UK pop charts for a second week on Sunday but many people hate the animated frog and his "B-ding ding dididing" tune.
The online Removal of the Crazy Frog petition is aimed at MTV and demands that "the advert be removed from TV (MTV UK & other TV networks & stations) indefinitely". It also seeks compensation "for days of endless mental trauma from this horrid advert".
It asks for compensation in one of the following forms - 'Public execution of the creator of the crazy frog', 'Public execution of the person whole stole the sound sample' or 'A free lunch to the limit of €9.99'. So far, almost 8000 people have signed the petition.
If the petition fails to work, two web games could help you vent your anger at the irritating amphibian. Shoot The Frog involves blasting him with a shotgun to see how far you can make him fly, while Squash The Frog lets you blast him into smithereens.
