YouTube live streams to begin November 21, 2008 Web User
YouTube embarks on a new venture this weekend, with two concerts from the US and Japan to be streamed live on the video-sharing site.
The event, called YouTubeLive!, will feature a host of musicians and artists including Katy Perry and music producer Will.i.am, who was responsible for turning the Barack Obama-supporting song "Yes We Can" into a YouTube hit, viewed over 13 million times.
The artists for the first ever live-streaming on YouTube were chosen mostly by YouTube members, but they all have one thing in common; they've used the Google owned video-sharing website to interact with their audiences.
In total, the 50 performers are responsible for well over 2.5 billion hits on YouTube, Chris Di Cesare of YouTube claimed.
