Google Maps in video trial October 9, 2008 Web User
Google Maps is currently trialling a new feature that adds geo-tagged videos from YouTube, similar to the way photos are added to the mapping service.
The service, still in testing mode, was revealed to Japanese Google Maps users this week. The company asked surfers to send feedback or report any bugs they found.
The location-specific video content is activated by mousing-over the 'More' button at the top of the map.
Reports say that when the video option was turned on small thumbnails of videos began appearing all over the map of Japan.
When a thumbnail was clicked, it brought up more information about the video and let the user click through to watch the video on YouTube.
Web User will bring you more on this feature as it is revealed.
