With a greater emphasis on video and images, the Sky News site now embraces a look first seen as a beta version released last week.

There is a new homepage top story carousel, which displays the latest breaking news in video and pictures.

You'll also find a Choose Your News option in the left-hand panel, which lets you choose the stories and video which interest you most.

"Change isn't easy, and I am sure finding your way around our pages will take a little getting used to. But as you navigate your way, you'll find plenty of interesting and useful new offerings," said Steve Bennedik of Sky News.

However, there appear to be one or two teething problems with some links leading to older content.

Also, viewing the site using Internet Explorer 6 raises some issues, though the site seems to work fine with IE7 and Firefox 2 and 3.
