Following in the footsteps of MyFootballClub.co.uk, rugby fans are being offered the chance to invest in a rugby club.

In return for an annual subscription of £30, OurRugbyClub.com is giving fans the chance to propel a small rugby club toward Premiership glory.

The aim of the site is to gather "a community of knowledgeable, like-minded rugby supporters and, by pooling our financial resources, ORFC will help a rugby club to attract new players and coaching staff."

Eventually ORFC want to have everything in place to "transform the club into a Premiership heavyweight."

Unlike similar ventures in football, with My Football Club and The People's Club, ORFC will not be buying an existing club outright, but will invest in a small rugby club.

Surfers can log on and suggest a club which they think could do with a significant cash injection.

In order for the project to be viable, the club needs to attract 10,000 members in its first year, according to the people behind the site.

In return for registering, members could be in line for discounted match tickets, competetions to win international tickets and the opportunity to participate in a trial match for the club.
