Is there anything that you can't use YouTube for? How about humiliating your partner during a divorce settlement?
This is exactly what Trisha Walsh-Smith, the wife of a prominent Broadway theatre operator did.
Mrs Walsh-Smith appears tearful and furious in the video in which she informs viewers about her husband, who is 25 years older, and who wants to "throw her out of her house".
During the video she entreats viewers about all sorts of personal secrets regarding the couple's sex life. At one point in the clip she calls up her husband's office to ask what she should do with his condoms.
The divorce video has bemused New York lawyers, some of the most seasoned and successful divorce lawyers in the world.
"This is absolutely a new step, and I think it's scary," said Bonnie Rabin, a divorce lawyer who has handled high-profile cases.
"People used to worry about getting on Page Six [the gossip page of the New York Post]. But this? It brings the concept of humiliation to a whole new level."
Mrs Smith-Walsh goes on to talk about family members describing them as "bad" or "evil" or "nasty".
So far the video has had over 170,000 hits but if it's empathy and understanding that motivated her to make her YouTube debut then she probably shouldn't spend too much time on the viewer's comments.
