Every parent wants their child to stand out, be original and unique. So why not call your little bundle of joy Iona Knipl?
In an internet contest to find the worst bad name run by the New York Times, Miss Knipl came out on top of a list that included Chastity Beltz, Wrigley Fields and Justin Credible.
The judges decided that Iona Knipl was the most original and embarrassing, and because it elicited the standard response, "I own two".
Iona, from Cleveland, Ohio, has taken her husband's name since she wed. She told the paper that her mother never thought what effect naming her daughter Iona would have when she chose it.
Other names included in the 1,000 names up for consideration and all apparently genuine were Chaos and Tutu for girls, as well as Clever, Cowboy, Crash, Felony, Furious and Zero for boys.
There was also a Brook Traut who named his daughter Rainbow and an Unnamed Jones. The judges also commented on the staggering number of names involving genitalia and noted that parents should carefully consider their surname before naming a boy Harry or Richard.
