Nintendo Wii owners can now access TV content from the BBC's iPlayer following an agreement between the broadcaster and the games giant.
The collaboration was unveiled by Erik Huggers of the BBC during a keynote speech at a digital content conference in Cannes.
Mr Huggers said the collaboration with Nintendo marks another "exciting milestone for BBC iPlayer".
"It underlines our commitment to reaching new audiences by making BBC iPlayer available on as many platforms as possible," he continued.
Owners of Wii consoles in the UK will receive a message informing them of the availability of the catch-up service from the BBC.
Following the latest announcement the iPlayer can now be accessed on a number of different platforms including mobile devices and PCs.
The iPlayer was launched at the beginning of the year and one million people downloaded more than 3.5 million programmes from the iPlayer in the first month alone.
Nearer to home internet service providers have attacked the BBC saying that the corporation should help foot the bill for the costs its new service is incurring on their networks.
