Research has shown that Brits are far more likely to buy goods online than their European neighbours.
A report from market research firm Mintel has found that grocery shopping is driving this trend, with many Brits going online to do their weekly shop.
"The UK has by far and away the most developed online market in Europe," said Richard Perks, director of retail research at Mintel.
"The main reason for this is the sophisticated online offering of the UK's food retailers and the fact that so many of us now more than happy to turn to the internet to do our weekly shop," he continued.
Ocado, Tesco, Sainsbury's and Asda all offer online shopping services in the UK, letting you choose the items you want and have them delivered to your door at a time convenient to you.
According to the research, UK online sales were worth £12.8bn in 2007, and the online retail market grew by 75 per cent between 2005 and 2007.
