The solo catalogue of John Lennon has gone on sale in Apple's iTunes store.
The tracks will be available without DRM protection and at a bit rate of 256kbps for 99p each, or at a lower bit rate of 128kbps with DRM for 79p.
There are sixteen tracks in all, including Jealous Guy and Imagine.
"John would have loved the fact that his music will now be available in a format suited to a new generation of listeners,” said Yoko Ono.
Though the solo works of Paul McCartney are available on iTunes, no music by the Beatles is available in a digital format anywhere on the web.
"John Lennon is one of the greatest artists of our time,” said Steve Jobs, Apple's CEO. "We're thrilled to have his solo catalogue available on the iTunes Store for the first time."
