Madasafish to be bought by BT July 6, 2007 Ben Camm-Jones
Brightview Group, owners of ISP Madasafish and provider of 'white-label' services to companies such as Waitrose, is to be bought by BT.
BT announced this morning that it had tabled an offer of around £15.8m and matters were now in the hands of Brightview's shareholders.
Madasafish and other Brightview services have been praised in the past for their customer support offering and the company won an industry award last year. The group as a whole has around 62,000 customers in the UK.
Ian Livingston, BT Retail's chief executive, said: "This acquisition will ensure that Brightview's customers can benefit from our market-leading services, resources and technology development as well as the excellent customer service they're already receiving."
If the deal goes through, it will be the second acquisition BT has made in the ISP market this year, having bought PlusNet back in January.
PlusNet continues to operate under the same name and recently came out top of a survey into customer satisfaction in the broadband market.
