McCartney's music to go online
May 14, 2007
Ben Camm-Jones

Music Parlophone, the record label that owns the rights to Paul McCartney's post-Beatles catalogue has said that much of the artist's later work is to be made available online.

Full details of the plans to relaunch many Paul McCartney and Wings albums have not yet been released but Parlophone, part of the EMI Group which owns the rights to The Beatles' music, hinted that more information would be forthcoming after the launch of McCartney's next studio album, Memory Almost Full, on 4 June.

Tony Wadsworth, chairman and chief executive of EMI Music UK said: “Paul McCartney's post-Beatles catalogue, spanning four decades, is one of the great treasures of popular music. EMI is proud to be introducing Paul's music to the digital marketplace.”

Parlophone said that as well as new digital campaigns, there would be physical re-releases of many recordings as well.
