The BBC's streaming content is only available to TV licence payers in the UK. If your IP (internet protocol) address is recognised as originating from outside the British Isles, it will be blocked.
If, however, you have the iPlayer Desktop software installed, you could download the programmes you want to your laptop before you go on holiday and watch them while you're away. Just avoid connecting to the internet in order to prevent the licence check.
Alternatively, you can download the programmes for Windows Media Player by clicking More Downloads and selecting that option. Use Internet Explorer to ensure you receive the necessary licence. This will let you watch the programme anywhere, and going online shouldn't cause you any problems.
