Diskette Drive 0

  • Mon, 12 Oct 2009

Every time I turn on my PC, after the boot section it goes black and says 'Diskette Drive 0 Seek Failure. Press F1 to continue, F2 to enter setup'. How can I rectify this problem?

It sounds like the computer is trying to boot up from a floppy-disk drive. Modern PCs no longer use floppies, so the next time it occurs and you go into set-up, look through each screen of information for the 'boot device' setting. Every set-up program is different, so we can't say exactly where it is, but it'll be there somewhere.

Select it and set the first boot device to be the hard disk. Save the settings, restart and everything should be OK.
