Surfers encouraged to help OneWebDay efforts

Surfers all over the world are asked to do something to help "keep the web awesome" on Tuesday 22 September.

Surfers from around the world are asked to take some time to do things to help make the web a fun and enjoyable place for others to mark OneWebDay on 22 September.

Coming directly after Mozilla Service Week, OneWebDay is a "chance to reflect on how amazing the web is and to think about how we can move it forward, making it awesome for everyone" according to its organisers.

You can help out by donating your Twitter or Facebook status for the day, or alternatively by donating money directly to OneWebDay.

Otherwise, you're encouraged to help other less technically adept people keep their computers shipshape with security and software updates.

"OneWebDay is a great opportunity to extend those good deeds to anyone who could use a hand experiencing a better web. Everyone can help, the only requirement is to simply love the web," Chelsea Novak, marketing and fundraising manager for Mozilla said.
