I accept what you are saying and I hoped that my post clarified that only those who consciously subscribe should receive the email.
What I mean is a well intended method of providing interested parties with a means of personalised communication - not spam.
I well understand the concept of BCC and think that it should be abolished. Consider the following problem with BCC at work - A so called colleague emails you accusing you of making a serious error and BCC's your boss in, you click reply all with a stiff rebuttal, guess who is ignored from the reply - yes the BCC. Stupid invention - that's why I can honestly say I have never used it and that's why I ignore BCC mail - as do many others, hence the origin of this thread
