I had a visitor contact me who uses a higher resolution and he sent me a screen shot. That blue background repeats itself horizontally and when it recentres the text it moves right over into the darker area (formed by the repetition) making it unreadable to him.
I need to get the background to resize or stretch to avoid that. The darker areas either side of the main text are used for links (in white) on pages other than the home page.
I don't want to lose that background as I think it suits the site very well, but am at a loss as to know what to do with it.
