hi all, i have just had my computer returned from repair and am having to download all my programs again cos i had my hard drive replaced. i have win98 and have downloaded windows media player and realOne player, as i had before it was sent off. i use both because windows media is pretty decent for playing normal cd's, but realOne is preferred by many sites incl. BBC. also, i now make my CD's using a program called Mixmeister, which enables you to mix the tracks together and then export them into .wav files, enabling you to play them as a burned CD if you want. WMP does not play the finished CD properly whereas RealOne does.
anyway, enough of the life story, i'll get to the point. when i downloaded RealOne it asked me to register by connecting to their site and signing up etc, however it cant connect for whatever reason, so i cancel this prompt box and start using the player. it plays fine - thats not a problem. what is a problem is that i have to first put the CD in my E drive, open realOne player, play the CD (no volume though, for some strange reason) and then put it in my F drive, and thats when it plays (after plenty of pop ups and so forth). this didnt happen before, and i wondered how to get round this problem.
do you suggest another player that supports the type of stuff that BBC and other sites offer, and most importantly, will my CD work? if i play it in WMP, at the end of every track it jumps where the songs are meant to mix (hence my reason for using the other player).
apologies for the long post, i had to put all details! i hope someone can help me out as i will be using my computer as a CD player at University, i dont want to have to be ejecting CDs every five minutes just to get them to play!
cheers spag
