As far as I know Real Player is not a Microsoft product, the prompt is possibly RP wanting you to go for the pay for version with more additional features.

Some time ago I installed RP because it was/is the preferred program of the BBC website. Unfortunately I found RP to be very intrusive, even advised, rightly or wrongly, it monitored internet preferences. In other words, spyware.

To me the program became a total nuisance, forever prompting etc so I was quite happy to uninstall.
