? Defective Computer

I purchased a computer advertised in the Telegraph in Feb 2007 with 3 years warranty.
First time I used the computer it blew up. A technician came and changed several hardware at home.
The computer was making a creeking noise and it went back for repair several times. It usually comes back with all the checks ticked but there never was any difference.
Ultimately this year the CD Rom ODD drive packed in and the computer went back for replacement of ODD.
It came back with the noise worse. They took back the computer once again and discovered that the plastic cover of the HDD was cracked and they replaced it.
The computer came back nice and quiet and I was delighted. But it started suffering from blue screen deaths.
They suggested it could be due to some conflict and sent the computer to the repair dept once again.
They returned the computer with original factory settings. Once again there is a report on all the tests done with various softwares and okayed.
When I used the computer it was making a new whinning noise and after about half an hour before I could load the back up data the computer simply died down with no power.
The vendor once again collected the computer but I felt that I have had enough now. I have written a request not to send back that computer even if they repair that and requested for either replacement with a new computer or refund. This computer had gone back to the vendor for repair five times and had three visits by their technicians at home in 23 months. I must say that their service is very good regarding warranty. I am lucky that it has three years warranty.
I would appreciate if some one can tell me whether or not I have a right to ask for refund or replacement under the circumstances I have described. Could the computer have such a defect that it is never going to be right.
