Hi there

Try this route :-

Start, Settings, Control Panel, Network Connections. Choose the appropriate connection (it should be under the heading Dial-Up) and right click on it. Choose Properties then on the General tab click on Configure. Take the tick out of the box headed 'Enable modem speaker' then OK twice.
