Hi all,
i've allways considered networking to be the dark side of computing but i'm now having to take the plunge.just bought a laptop running vista home premium and have desktop running xphome sp2.I would like some advice on getting started.i connect to the internet via cable modem,i've bought the router a netgear wpn824 am i right in thinking that i should connect my desktop via cable and laptop wirelessly.also should i run a software firewall on both computers? is there anything else i should look out for?
