HijackThis log (where's the worm?)
      Thu May 29 2008 02:49 AM

Dear wonderful people... help please!

I have AntiVir Guard on my PC. Yesterday (but not, strangely, today!) it kept popping up with a warning that a "Virus or Unwanted Program was found" -- WORM/Pykse.M.1 (It won't let me view exactly where it is, but the partial address showing is C:\Program Files\...\symlcsvc.exe )

AntiVir pops up and allows me the options of "Move to Quarantine," "Delete," "Ignore," or "Open." When I clicked "Move to Quarantine" it repeatedly required about 3 to 5 pop ups (repeated every time I switched the puter on), then it waited a few minutes and popped up again. Soooo... apparently, it wasn't dealing with it. Yet today there've been NO pop-ups, no warnings, no sign of it... only the PC going excessively S L O W L Y...

Having frantically googled, I discovered that a) Pykse is apparently transmitted via SKYPE... BUT I don't HAVE Skype on this PC!!!!! and b) that I needed to download HijackThis from Trend. Which I've done: herewith the log.

Re., the log: I notice that the penultimate line of it has something to do with Symantec... but as far as I know... there is nothing from Symantec on this PC any more...?
Also, I switched the "Set Restore Points" back ON last night (I'd switched them off for a few hours after reading somewhere that it was necessary) - do I need to switch it back off again?

Thank you... and ... help!

PS.... Pretty please.... if you CAN help, would you give any instructions in REALLY basic steps? You know, the sort you'd need to talk a three-year-old through it...? I've carefully & attentively read all those warnings about one false step and am now duly & truly terrified that I will make the problem worse by not having a clue (let alone fully understanding!) 'bout what I'm supposed to do. Using puters - great. Understanding what I'm supposed to do when it comes to worms, viruses, trojans, etc... urk, yikes, nope, only panic!

So herewith this evening's log:
