Another Wi Fi problem

Hi, I have searched previous post to find a solution with no luck. I have changed my BT Home Hub from WEP to WPA-PSK as recommended, I have put in a fifteen alpha numeric wireless key but I am unable to connect my wife's Toshiba Satellight Pro. I have gone into network set up on her computer put in the SSID, selected WPA-PSK, selected TKIP and put in the wireless key but although it sees the connection it won't connect, when I try to repair it it says it can't find IP address. I have tried connecting via USB drive transfer, and although the Toshiba says wireless connection transferred, it still doesn't work. I'm running Vista HE and am connected by Ethernet connection and the Toshiba is running XP HE and has automatic updates so I'm sure it should be able to connect When I revert to to WEP everything is fine again.
Would WEP be ok if I'm running a good firewall?
Any help appreciated.
