The king of the false advertising is RyanAir. The 'One penny' return fair I took last year to Dublin actually cost me £70. You only find that out at the end of the booking process. He tries to claim it's not his fault that we pay fuel surcharge, taxes etc. but that's hardly the point. If I take a bus ride from home to town I'm told up front it will cost £1.70. I know that includes the cost of fuel, maintenance of the bus, local taxes etc. I don't expect to get on the bus and then be asked by the driver for another 30p for the fuel surcharge and council taxes. It's high time these so called 'budget' airlines were told to quote the proper price up front.
