The Virtumonde Virus - do you have it?

If you have scanned your PC using an anti-virus program that has detected the virus 'Virtumonde', you will not be able to get rid of it using the program - even if the program says it has detected and deleted it.
The only way to delete it permanently is to go to: http://www.f-secure.com/sw-desc/virtumonde.shtml and follow the instructions.
No matter how good your anti-virus software is, it is unlikely that it can remove the virus. Virtumonde runs hidden from the user and displays pop-up advertisements. The adware connects to a server and queries for advertisements to display. The adware actively prevents removal by using several different techniques.
