If you mean using the mic socket to plug a line connecter into for recording the answer is not as simple as that. You need to antenuate the line sig/voltage by 100:1 to bring it to the same level as what a mic would deliver to the mic input socket.
So the answer would be don't do it unless you know what you are doing as the sound chip mic input could be damaged.
