Office 2003 SP3 updates not installing

I uninstalled Office 2003 Professional Edition with Revo-Uninstaller, as the Office suite had become corrupted. Since I've reinstalled the suite, I have been unable to install either SP3 or any of the subsequent updates. I went to the Microsoft site and was told that this may be as a result of uninstalling the original Office installation files. I have looked in the registry and cannot find entries for the individual programs (such as Word or Excel). I am a little surprised, since I would expect them to have re-appeared as a result of the reinstallation of the package.
Does anyone know how I can solve this problem please?
