Re: 'Breakdown' Insurance V Repair Bills

I am regularly asked to 'look at' a computer that isn't working properly. In most cases it takes at least an hour to install and run diagnostic software and then understand what it's telling you. And that's before you actually start fixing it.

Let's assume you are on £50,000 per annum for a 40 hour week. You need to add 35% on top of that for pension, insurance and other requirements of a self employed person. That's around £32 an hour and you haven't actually costed in anything for a workshop, a vehicle, tools of the trade employees etc. etc. That also assumes the individual is working the full 40 hours. If he's only got jobs that last 20 hours that week, where does he get the rest of the money he needs to live on?

I know it sounds quite easy to get someone to 'look at' your PC but if it was that easy you would do it yourself. You clearly don't have the skills so you must pay for someone who does. Or teach yourself and then YOU could go and charge people £60 an hour to mend their computers.

Do you know that we're all in line for succession to the throne? Really?
Well, if forty-eight million, two hundred thousand, seven hundred and one people died I'd be Queen.
