I accept your note of caution and I took a look round the web before uploading my details, but 2 respectable sources gave it the thumbs up which reassured me:

It's a tricky subject isn't it? We are given many more personal pieces of information of our friends online these days through emails, Facebook questionnaires, complete backups of our My Documents.
Our friends can post photos of us and tag us on Facebook, often without asking or post photos to public websites.
If you have a wide circle of friends and business associates, your home telephone number can be stored on scores of mobile devices.
I can definitely see your point, but it seems to be the way the world is going.
