Highlighting Changes to a Word Document

Does anybody know if I am correct in thinking that in 'Word' there is a way to show / highlight any changes that have been made to a saved document. For instance if you write a six page document save it and then have to make changes and re submit it, you can somehow show or highlight the changes. I hope this makes sense.
