Re: Backing up advice

Got another one for you. I got the Acronis True Image 11. Done the backup to the external hard drive and all seems to be ok. I want to activate the Startup Recovery manager but it says i need to create a secure zone on the hard disk. It says it will overwrite the master boot record with its own boot code when the recovery manager is activated. It also says it will disable any other third party boot managers and these will have to be reactivated manually.
I'm not very pc savvy so was just wondering if it's ok to do this and what are the implications, if any, of overwriting the master boot record (MBR), or should i not bother with the recovery manager at all.

Thanks in advance
D
