To BurrWalnut: Thanks for your reply: I have checked all of the hardware by clicking on f10 when booting up, this allows me to run the Diagnostic, No hardware problems were found, the mouse passed the diagnostic tests and also the keyboard. This did not surprise me since I was using the keyboard to make the choices when using the Bios. I have now reinstalled Windows XP from the System disk but on booting-up I cannot log-in because there is no apparent response from the mouse. I need to find a way to download the driver again.
